List of eminent academicians and scientists/visitors to the department

·         A two-day workshop on “Adobe Photoshop CS3” for the students and faculty was conducted on July 17^th and 18^th, 2014. Dr. Prasanna kumari, Professor and Head, Dept. of Computer Science, Rajalakshmi Engineering College was the resource person. The participants were given hands-on training in Photo editing, banner and invitation designing.

·         An Inter-collegiate symposium ZiB 2014-15 was conducted on 26^th September 2014. Dr. Ananthi Seshasayee, Professor and Head, Dept. of Computer Science, Quaid-E-Millath College for Women inaugurated the symposium. Students from 20 colleges participated enthusiastically in the various competitions. Overall championship was bagged by “Sri Kanyaka Parameswari College for Women”.

·         A guest lecture on “Advanced Computing” was conducted on 29^th January 2015. Dr. P.L. Chitra and Dr. S. Sornam, Assistant Professors, Dept. of Computer Science ,University of Madras were the resource persons. They gave the students an insight into the fields of “Digital Image Processing” and “Artificial Neural Networks”.

·         A two-day workshop on “Web Application development using MySQL and PHP” for the students was conducted on February 3^rd and 4^th, 2015. Mr.Jerald Inico, Assistant Professor Dept. of Computer Science, Loyola College was the resource person. The participants were given hands-on training in web applications development.

·         A seminar on “Recent Techniques in Software Development” was conducted on 12^th February 2015. Mr.R.Rajkumar, M.Tech  (IIT, Madras), CEO, Sampatika Medical Solutions gave a glimpse into the implementation of the software life cycle models in the IT industry.

1.      J.Mary Catherine Head, Dept. of Computer Science have cleared the IBM’s International Certification Exam on “DB2” in the month of September 2014.

2.       J.Mary Catherine Head, Dept. of Computer Science has registered for Ph.D., in Periyar University, Salem.

3.      J.Mary Catherine Head, Dept. of Computer Science has been one of the resource persons for the UGC-NET coaching class conducted by the University of Madras for the SC and BC candidates during November and December 2014.

4.      V.Nandhini, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science has cleared the EMC’s International Certification Exam on “Cloud Infrastructure and Services” in the month of June 2014.

5.      V.Suganthi, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science attended a FDP on “Android Mobile Application Development and Deployment” organized by Dept. of Computer Science, Loyola College on 28^th and 29^th November 2014.
