INDUSTRIAL VISIT-MITOSIS TECHNOLOGY

                     The Department of Computer Science, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women organized one day Industrial visit to Mitosis Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Madambakka  m High Road, Rajakilpakkam, Chennai-73 on November 30, 2018. The students were accompanied by faculty members and they had an experience with the award winning firm with a passion for technology. They also learned about IOT, Mobile Apps, E- Commerce, Testing as a Service, ERP, Block-Chain.

CLOUD LITERACY DAY


The Departments of Computer Science and Computer Applications, CTTE College for Women hosted “Cloud Literacy Day” on 25/10/2018 organized by the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu. More than 100 students participated in the event which was powered by AWS Educate. The students underwent a series of challenges and earned “Cloud Inventor” badges.

DIGITAL LITERACY PROGRAMME

             The Department of Computer Science, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for women organized one day workshop on “Digital Transaction and Online Safety” on September 15, 2018 for the homemakers, unemployed women as a part of the ‘Digital Literacy Drive’ launched by the department . Homemakers from the college neighborhood participated and benefited from the program.
The participants were given hands on training for Email creation and usage, performing online transactions such as EB bill, etc. They were also given awareness on safe browsing on mobile.

CAMPUS TO CORPORATE –PLACEMENT TRAINING


             The Department of Computer Science, CTTE College for women organized six days Campus to Corporate Placement training in the month of September 2018.
The Resource person was Mr. S. Shyam Sundar, Corporate Trainer, Coach in Behavioural skills. The students had an eye opening session followed by fun through learning activities. The following topics were covered on the six days training. The students were made to focus on their verbal and non verbal communication skills and listening skills, apart from thinking out of the box. They were also given practice on the resume creation and interview skills. The training ended with a mock panel interview and the best performers were awarded.

Day 1 (03/09/2018) : 7C’s of communication, Non verbal communication-Gestures, postures and eye contact,, Business etiquette, Small talk.

Day 2 (04/09/2018): Common place etiquette, Grammar basics- Present, Past & Future tense, Presentation skills, Public speaking.

Day 3 (05/09/2018) : Types of sentences, Redundancies, Indianisms,Usage of prepositions, Thinking out of the box.


Day 4 (07/09/2018) : Listening skills, Paraphrasing, Group discussion-Do’s and dont’s, Mock group discussion.

 

Day 5 
(10/09/2018): Resume and cover letter, Components of a resume, Types of resume, frequently asked interview questions.



Day 6 (11/09/2018) : How to project your USP’s, Mock Panel interviews, Verbal aptitude.

NATIONAL SEMINAR

         The Resource Persons were Dr.Meenakshi D’Souza, Assistant Professor, IIIT Bangalore(Course Instructor, NPTEL)and Dr. Sangeetha ,Assistant Professor,Department of IT,Anna University(MIT Campus).

Faculty and students from the neighbouring colleges participatd in the event along with the students of the departments of Computer Science and Computer Applications of our college. The participants were given a brief insight into the concepts of testing web applications and the current trends in Health Analytics. The participants had an informative and fruitful session.



INTERCOLLEGIATE COMPETITION

Our Students have Won First Prize in SWING TEENS-GROUP DANCE Competition held at  Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College for Women on 6 th September 2018.
